Concept D grew out of an observation that the open space west of Straub is not often actively used. It builds on the south side of this open sapce, leaving the cross axis from Knight Library to Straub unimpeded and reinforced. This is site is currently identified as a protected open space in the Long Range Campus Development Plan.
