RepositoryObjectID
RepositoryObjectID
is placed at the end of the Locations hierarchy, but not necessarily part of
it. This layout records the administrative identification number assigned to an
object by its owning entity. If you have this information on hand while
cataloging, please include it in the Work record. The RepositoryObjectID is
very important when cataloging ancient art, particularly statuary and ceramics,
in order to differentiate objects from one another. In cataloging manuscript or
book pages the RepositoryObjectID functions as the lowest position of the Locations
hierarchy, indicating within which manuscript the page is located.
