Best Practices:
WorkType
The
WorkType layout is used to create strings of terms about what a work actually is. There should be little or no overlap
between WorkType and GeneralSubject or Subject. Most terms can be found in the
AAT hierarchies, however if you need a WorkType that does not appear in AAT,
look to the established hierarchies in this layout or AAT and build on them if
you can. Please consult the staff if you are having trouble. The WorkType
string is combined with the Classification list in the Work record for export.
Classification adds very broad keywords to the top level of the WorkType
hierarchy.
