About This Print
A small format reproduction of what has been called the "undisputed masterpiece" of the series One Hundred Famous Views of Edo.1
As six travelers cross the sweeping arc of the [Shin Ohashi] Bridge, they are overtaken by a violent rainstorm. It is the kind of summer rain when the sky darkens suddenly, thunder cracks, the clouds release a torrent of rain - and as suddenly, it all clears away. The surprised travelers hastily protect themselves with hats and umbrellas.... Numerous irregular lines express the downpour.2
