About This Print
Ay-O has immersed the "Heart Sutra" in seven colors of squares. At the bottom of the print the mantra
“Form is emptiness, emptiness is form,” insists the Heart Sutra, the most popular Buddhist scripture and emptiness, or "nothingness," was a major theme for the Daoist and Zen-influenced Fluxus artists, permeating their work.1
