About This Print


This print was created for the jin (coterie magazine) HANGA (Print Art), Volume 4, issued in December1924 by the publisher Hanga no Ie.  It shows a woman carrying a basket near the sea.  If the artist is the same person as the folklorist that bear the same name, the island may be Niishima (Niijima).
