About This Print
A collector of old foreign language books, Kawakami loved depicting the objects he found in them. This 1955 print uses two of the artist's favorite objects - lamps and a jar. In addition to numerous prints depicting these objects, Kawakami devoted an entire book to the lamp (ranpu ランプ), as can be seen below.
