This bijin kuchi-e with its characteristic tri-fold, is bound into the October 1918 "special issue" of the popular women's magazine Fujin sekai (Women's World). This bijin kuchie serves as an illustration for the twelfth installment of the serialized novel Reishō by Tengai Kosugi 小杉天外 (1865-1912) which ran in the magazine prior to its publication in three volumes starting in 1919.
