About This Print

A posthumous printing, printed by Yoneda Minoru, likely under the auspices of the artist's family.1 The print originally appeared in issue VI of the small print and poetry magazine Tsukuhae (Moonglow), created by Onchi Koshiro (1891-1955)Shizuo Fujimori (1891-1943) and Tanaka Kyokichi (1892-1915).

"Throughout his working life, Onchi produced many works entitled 'Lyric'. In these works he explored the characteristics of woodcut searching for a union of poetry and visual art."

1 After the artist's death the family authorized "memorial editions" from the printer Kôichi Hirai and, possibly, other printers, such as Yoneda.
