About This Print
It is generally assumed that whether the artist has used the Japanese word Niwa (Garden) as part of a print's title or Kyoto as part of a print's title, that the print portrays a Japanese garden.  Whether this print Series Kyoto No. 22 portrays the abstracted elements of a Japanese garden, e.g. rocks, water, trees, moss, plants, buildings, gates, lanterns and fences or the abstracted elements of a Kyoto city scene, the artist's forms and layers of color are left to the viewer to interpret or just enjoy as they are.
