About This Print

One of the artist's sosaku hanga prints depicting the drawbridge on Staalstraat, over Kloveniersburgwal, in the Centrum district of Amsterdam.  This print exists in at least two states, one of which is a numbered edition pictured in Tokuriki's book Wood-block Printing, show below, and the other this collection's print, either an artist's proof or unnumbered edition.  A recent photograph shows the bridge and buildings looking much the same as in Tokuriki's rendition of fifty years ago.
