About This Print
One of several woodblock prints serving as an overall index for the bound volumes of the series Nōgaku hyakuban (One Hundred Prints of Noh) issued by the publisher Matsuki Heikichi. This print lists the contents of Volume 1 and appears to contain the titles of fifty prints. While Kōgyo's signature does not appear on this print, his seals do appear in the lower right hand corner. The Albums - An Update from Claus-Peter Schulz
According to Claus-Peter Schultz, who has done extensive research on Tsukioka Kōgyo and his work, the albums were "distributed once the series had been completed (i.e. after September 1926). The order in the albums does not comply with the order of the 1st publishing (i.e. the distribution in 40 envelopes of three sheets each). [This] contents sheet belongs to volume 1."
