A priest visiting the capital goes into a nearby shelter to escape a sudden shower. A lady appears and tells him that the place was built by Fujiwara Teika who had a secret liaison with the Princess Shokushi. But very soon she died, and Teika's spirit turned into the vine which clings to her grave. She takes the priest to the spot and then, disclosing that she is the Princess, disappears from sight. The priest recites the Lotus Sutra, and her spirit reappears to perform a joyful dance in gratitude for having attained salvation through his prayers.
