Allow partial matches
- Search for whole words, or parts of words.
- Example: a search for English car will find "car" and also "cars," "cart," and "scar."
- Applies to Yuki or English searches when selected.
- Wildcard searches are allowed. See this tutorial on how to use wildcards.
Find exact matches only
- Search for exactly what you typed in the Yuki or English search boxes.
- Example: a search for English car will find "car" but not "cart" or "scar."
- Helpful when you're trying to find a particular word and you are very certain about the spelling.
- Yields a smaller set of search results.
- Applies to Yuki or English searches when selected.
- Wildcard searches are allowed. See this tutorial on how to use wildcards.
Use smart English matching
- Find English words related to whatever you typed in the English search box.
- Example: a search for running will also find "run."
- Works a little better when searching the dictionary than when searching the texts.
- Applies to English searches only; Yuki searches will use the default "partial match" above.
- Wildcard searches are allowed. See this tutorial on how to use wildcards.
Use relaxed spelling options in Yuki
- Treat certain Yuki letters as equivalent to one another to get more search results
- Example: if "t-sounds" is selected, a search for tin in Yuki will find "tin," "din," and "t'in."
- This might be helpful to find words with sounds that are easily confused if you're just getting started with the language.
- If you select a lot of these options at the same time, the search results might get very large and hard to interpret.
- Applies to Yuki searches only; English searches will use the default "partial match" above.
- Wildcard searches are allowed (but might give slightly strange results). See this tutorial on how to use wildcards.

ID number:
This option will find words with a specific ID number and, when searching the dictionary, entries related to it. This is mostly included here for convenience of people who work on programming the dictionary website, but other people might find it useful too. (This can be combined with other search options, but there's usually no reason to do that!)
