Woodcut
A Woodcut is a print taken off the top of a block of wood after all the areas that one wants white have been removed. This is an example of a multiple block woodcut. First, one removes where white (or the color of the paper) should be, then the lightest color is printed. Next one removes wood from where one wants the color, and so on and so forth, until all of the colors have been added. Here are some examples of one color, Mexican woodcuts.
