Oct 2003              Assisted in the daily operation and strategic planning of the office.  Handled informal/formal student complaints, student code of conduct, and formal sexual and racial harassment complaints - periodically working with the college’s legal counsel in producing outcome letters that address the college’s legal position in these matters. Developed and maintained reports, presentations, correspondences, and confidential documents. Scheduled and handled logistics of meetings, retreats, conferences, and other special events. Assisted colleagues in completing assignments and special projects.

July 1997-            Assistant to the Vice President for Instruction and Student Services
June 2001            Assisted the vice president in the daily operation and strategic planning of the Instruction and Student Services areas, which were comprised of Enrollment Services, Counseling, Student Financial Services, Student Life & Leadership Development, Student Support Services, The Torch, and the Women’s Program.  Responsibilities included arranging meetings, student hearings, formal student complaints, conferences and special events. Processed reports, correspondence, meeting minutes, and formal presentations.  Position requires the ability to interact with all members of the community, be detail-oriented, follow through on all assignments, maintain confidentiality, and work independently on behalf of the Vice President.

June 1997            Assisted the vice president in the daily operation of the office and Student Services areas, which were comprised of the Admissions/Student Records, Athletics, Counseling, Financial Aid, Student Activities, Student Support Services, The Torch, and the Women’s Program. Trained, supervised, evaluated, and supported student workers and part-time staff; managed the office budget that included providing quarterly expenditure report, travel reconciliation, budget transfers, capital outlay requests, special projects expenditures, and initiating electronic budget transfers.  As a purchasing agent, researched and purchased equipment and supplies, developed and utilized an inventory control system, and initiated payment for membership dues, subscription renewals, maintenance, and intercampus services.  Personnel duties included evaluating student workers and part-time staff, generating Personnel Action Forms on new hires or personnel adjustments within the Student Services area, training on best office practices, and producing an Office of Student Services Procedures Manual, which has evolved into its current form.  Was responsible for the efficient process of receiving, tracking and maintaining the Student Code of Conduct violations and the Formal Student Complaint cases.  In addition, coordinated meetings, conferences, and special events; processed correspondence, reports, meeting minutes, and formal presentations.
