Darlingtonia State Natural Site lets you explore an Oregon coastal bog from the comfort of an elevated boardwalk. Here, you can see Darlingtonia californica, the cobra lily, which eats meat -- specifically, capturing and digesting insects. It's the only carnivorous plant native to Oregon.
Follow signage just east on Mercer Lake Road near milepost 185 on US 101 on the north side of Florence. It's a short and fascinating walk.
