Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park is a lovely Oregon State Park embedded in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area south of Florence. It occupies a forested dune area between Cleawox and Woahink Lakes, with trees, rhododendrons, and wildlife viewing opportunities. There is a campground, and day use areas. The ocean beach is a two-mile hike across sand dunes criss-crossed by active OHV trails, and Cleawox Lake is long, so you can't just park at the lake's day use and walk west without running into the lake. Think of Honeyman as a coastal lakes-amid-dunes experience, rather than a beach access park.
The park entrance is near milepost 193 on US 101, a few miles south of Florence and the Siuslaw River. Google Maps.
