Salmon Harbor Drive,
Winchester Bay

South of Reedsport, near milepost 215 on US-101, is the tiny town of Winchester Bay.  It is mostly a harbor with docks for fishing boats, and campgrounds oriented at OHV riders there to ride in the dunes.  The entire stretch of coastline from the mouth of the Umpqua River to the mouth of Coos Bay is part of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, and sections near Winchester Bay are open to OHV riding.

Salmon Harbor Drive runs west from US-101 at the base of the headland occupied by the Umpqua Lighthouse State Park.  The drive passes by and provides access to parking areas for the docks and campgrounds for OHVs.  At the mouth of the Umpqua River, it turns south to run a few miles parallel to the beach and provides access to a series of beach access points and OHV staging areas.
