Falcon Cove Rd 🐚A neighborhood of the town of Arch Cape was enclosed as an enclave within the borders of Oswald West State Park when the park was established.  Falcon Cove Rd is the southernmost access to this neighborhood, and to Cove Beach at the shore.  There is a little-marked trailhead close to US 101; this spectacular section of the Oregon Coast Trail leads (7 miles?) over Arch Cape (the cape) to Short Sand Beach.

99
Rainforest trailheadIn the middle of mile 99, there is a small pull-out from US-101 with parking for a few cars and a trailhead.  I suspect this is new since c.2020; I don't recall it from prior years.  I don't know where the trail leads, other than generally into the rain forest covering Cascade Head.

summitHere there was once a gravel forest road to the Cascade Head upper trailhead.  C.2021, the road was washed out near the junction with US-101, and in 2023, it appears that the intent is to erase the road rather than repair it.  Cascade Head is a wildlife refuge, and was formerly heavily used though only open half of the year.  Now, there are hikes from lower trailheads that are strenuous enough to filter out some visitors (maybe all who had intent to haul out poached flora or fauna).

Quail Street 🐚 65Gravel Quail Street in Seal Rock leads west from US 101, with a few gravel parking spots on the side.  It ends at Oregon beach access point #66, also called Quail Street.
On maps, I've seen references to a Little Creek Cove Scenic Point, but I haven't seen any signage for it on the ground.  There are several worthwhile scenic turn-outs from US 101 southbound, south of Seal Rock State Recreation Site, but I think these are within milepost 151 rather than 152.

181
👀, 95, halfway! There are a series of worthwhile viewpoint turn-outs on US 101 on the long slope toward the dunes.  Just south of milepost 181 and the Southview road, one of these turnouts offers a great view and also an unmarked trailhead down the slope to Oregon beach access point 95.  It provides access to the northernmost beach in Oregon's Dune Country.
Arithmetically, 181.5 is halfway from 0 at the Columbia River to 363 at the California border along US 101 in Oregon.  In reality, the mileposts are discontinuous along Nehalem Bay, north of Lincoln City, and within Bandon.
