Yachats State Recreation Area is a day-use park where the rocky terrace under Yachats meets the waves. A viewing platform offers views of the ocean, the mouth of the Yachats River, the rocky shoreline, and the green bulk of Cape Perpetua to the south. Trails provide primitive access to the rocky promotory, with its waves and tidepools. There is parking and a rest room facility.
Yachats State Recreation Area is west of downtown Yachats on Ocean View Road and W 2nd St. It's near milepost 164 on US 101. Google Maps.
