Assorted Class Work

Contemporary media practice involves a rigorous investigation of, and engagement with continually evolving technologies. Our digital arts program encourages students to combine an understanding of the theoretical discourses of new media and visual arts with strong technical sophistication, a rich sense of visual design and an ability to articulately express themselves as artists.

Interactivity in Digital Arts can mean many things. From data-collecting interactive installations in art galleries to Web 2.0 Internet platforms, from hacking into sensors in video game systems to exploring circuitry and robotics, this course will delve into the rich field of Interactivity across various disciplines and media. The unifying thread of this exploration is the question of how Interaction and User Experience have been utilized in art practice historically and where this burgeoning field might lead the creative fields in the future.
