Mir Landsmenschaft in Israel

The Mir Landsmenschaft in Israel is made up of people who left Mir in the early part of the 20th century to settle in Israel, survivors of the Mir ghetto, and other partisans and survivors from Mir and their descendants.

The group serves many purposes. They have created memorials in Israel and in Mir. They sponsor lectures, support students with scholarships and are currently providing the groundwork for a Jewish museum in Mir Castle.

1992
With the fall of the Soviet Union, it was now possible to once again visit Mir. A group of Mir Landsmen returned to Mir for the first time since 1945 and told the assembled group about their trip.
A memorial service was held as part of this meeting.
