Mir Castle on Postage

This engraved postage stamp was part of a set published between 1935 and 1936 in Poland. As a result of the Riga Peace Treaty of 1921, Mir and much of what now is western Belarus was governed by Poland. (See Timeline for more details on the changing governments.)

The stamp is listed in Scott's Standard Postage Stamp Catalog: Poland 1935-36 number 299, rose red. It is part of a series featuring images from Poland.

The value is 30 groszy. One hundred groszy was equal to one zloty (as of 1924).
