The Role of the GTF
Teaching language courses while completing your graduate studies can be a rewarding endeavor. However, balancing your roles as teacher and student can become quite challenging, and at times it may not be clear how you can successfully divide your time between the two roles. Below are some criteria that should help you determine your minimum responsibilities as a GTF in Romance Languages.
Remember that the first- and second-year language courses are multi-sectioned, so it is essential that transitions from one level to another (i.e., 101 to 102) be consistent for all students regardless of the section they are enrolled in. Although we want you to have the freedom to conduct your class to suit your individual style and your students' needs, certain standard policies and procedures must be followed.
