A. Answering questions

Comprehension questions, traditional format. Most teachers use these for "discussion" AFTER students have read a text. For a new twist, use them as an active reading activity:

"Before you read, look over these questions. Then, as you read, see if you can find the answers."

This way of using comprehension questions gives students a purpose for reading the text.
