Week 5	04/29	Process, continued. Examination of Sample Papers. Optional: Students who plan to revise the Expanded Definition (Document #1) should meet with the instructor during office hours by today, bringing both their original version with instructor comments and their revised version of the definition. Students may revise the definition if they had their first draft ready for peer review, participated in peer review, submitted the assignment when due, and were in class when the assignment was returned.

	05/08	Research Report, continued. Read before class: Lannon, Appendix A, pp. 574-608 (but only skim examples) and "Memo Formatting," p. 346; Info. on parenthetical citation (MLA or APA), student proposal examples (Model #1 and Model #2), and student progress report examples (Model #3 and Model #4); Packet, "Using Direct Quotations." Skim: Lannon, Chapter 24, pp. 493-509. Optional: Students who plan to revise the Description (Document #2) should meet with the instructor during office hours by today, bringing both their original version with instructor comments and their revised version of the definition. Week 7	05/13	Research Report, continued. Sign up for Oral Reports. Read before class: Lannon, Chapter 16, pp. 324-334. Outside of Class: Complete proposal and peer review of proposal with your peer partner.
	05/15	Research/Library/Open Lab. Turn in: Final version of proposal (memo to your instructor) (Document #4). Don't forget to attach your first draft and peer review comments.
	05/17	Research/Library/Open Lab. Pick up: Approved proposal. NOTE: Two reports written by students in previous classes are on reserve in the Library and may be used as models for your final report. Optional: Students who plan to revise the rocess Explanation (Document #3) should meet with the instructor during office hours by today, bringing both their original version with instructor comments and their revised version of the definition. Students may revise the definition if they had their first draft ready for peer review, participated in peer review, submitted the assignment when due, and were in class when the assignment was returned.
Week 8	05/20	Research/Library/Open Lab. Read before your oral report: Lannon, Ch. 26, pp. 554-572. IMPORTANT: If you plan to use any of the classroom equipment for your presentation, make sure you learn how to use it by today! If you're planning a power point presentation, make sure your disk is compatible by today! Optional: Revisions of Document #3 due; see note under 05/17.
	05/22	Oral Reports begin. Click here for the oral report schedule. Outside of Class: Work on Progress Report. Note: For the progress report, follow the format used in the student examples provided by your instructor rather than the examples in the text.
	05/24	Oral Reports continue. Outside of Class: Prior to next class period on 02/29, complete progress report and peer review of progress report with your peer partner.
Week 9	05/27	Memorial Day--No Class
	05/29	Oral Reports continue. Turn in at the beginning of class: Final version of progress report (Document #5). Don't forget to attach your first draft and peer review comments.
	05/31	Oral Reports continue.
Week 10	06/03	Open Lab and Writing Day Work on supplements to report. Complete rough draft for peer review on 06/03.
	06/05	Peer review. Bring to class: Rough draft of research report for peer review and report peer review sheet. Skim before writing your report abstract: Lannon, Ch. 11, pp. 175-186.
	06/07	Continue peer review. Questions and loose ends. Summary and evaluation.

06/10 Hand in final report (Document #6) between 9:00 AM and noon in 529 PLC.
