These notes were originally created for Winter Term, 1995-6. They are being gradually updated for Fall Term, 2007-8. In this process, I am trying to keep page content similar to what was there and maintain the URLs of pages, since many people outside the UO use these pages. For example, if you type "Hertsprung Russell Diagram" into Google, the appropriate page from this course is the number three hit, after Google's collection "Image results for Hertsprung Russell Diagram" and the entry for this subject from Wikipedia. Note that these pages are rather low tech. That's deliberate. Also, some links to outside sources don't work. That's not deliberate. It is simply because not much has been done to maintain these pages since 1995-6.
