I applied for a CAREER grant in both 2008 and 2009.
In 2008 my proposal was declined, and in 2009 it was accepted.
My research program and educational proposal did not change much,
but my exposition of my research propogram changed significantly.
Thus you might regard this as a model of a good way and a bad
way to write a grant proposal, but also keep in mind that the panel changes
from year to year, and there's a lot of randomness in the process.
