payroll: Payroll Updates
- We have a major announcement! No more green or blue PRFs. You may now
submit white PRFs for all employee classes. You may want to review the UO
Recycled Paper Policy which states that "at a minimum, all University
paper products shall consist of at least 50% recycled content with at
least 30% post-consumer content and be chlorine-free. Use of heavily dyed
and neon papers is discouraged." See
http://policies.uoregon.edu/ch4k.html
- Another major announcement! We will no longer be using green paper for
the earnings statements. We tried this in 1999 and got many complaints
from employees. It would be helpful if you let staff know about this
change and the need to follow the Recycled Paper Policy.
- As you may have noted, we have recently modified the SEF, the PRF and
the PAA to include a signature line for a principal investigator. This
additional signature is required when an employee.s salary is funded by
sponsored projects such as grants and contracts. For those who have been
asking for a definition: a principle investigator or P.I. is an
individual designated by the grantee institution to direct the project or
activity being supported by the grant and who is responsible and
accountable to the institution for the proper conduct of the work.
- The newest versions of the SEF and PRF are now available on the Forms
page of the Banner Guide; the bundled packets will be updated soon.
Meanwhile, we have submitted a service request to Information Services to
update the PRF which prints from PWIVERI. Currently, the PRF printed
from PWIVERI is the newest version of the form, but the Banner form where
you enter the data online still displays the old signature block. We
realize this is confusing.
What to do? Just leave the .Preparer. line blank or fill in the name of
the principal investigator (if applicable). In this way, you have the
latest version of the PRF and are in compliance with the new signature
guidelines from ORSA.
Thank you for your patience as we transition to the new forms.
