payroll: Work-Study & July Time Entry
Federal work-study year-end reporting must be able to distinguish between June and July payroll expense. The labor distributions for active student employees with a 25/75 work-study split have been updated effective July 1 with the new work-study indices. Remember to use the new, default index for any hours worked in July. You will need to manually enter the old index for any hours worked in June.
The indices for both fiscal years and an example for July time entry are on the Banner guide at http://bg.uoregon.edu/hris/student/stupro.htm
Note: Only Federal Work-Study indices may be charged to payroll expense during the summer months. UO Work-Study will not be available again until fall term.
Also, double-check your student employee summer awards by running the PWIPAYR Work-Study Report for fiscal year 10. Many student employees who do not have a summer award still have labor distributions with the 25/75 work-study split, which will need to be manually adjusted during time entry.
