travelnews: New Policy on Car Rental Insurance

DAS Risk Management has changed the policy for car rental insurance.
Effective immediately:

· Limited Damage Waiver (LDW) is required for all car rentals except when
using the State agreement with Budget Rental Car.

· See  http://ba/travel/vehiclerental.htm#RentalContract for instructions
on how to use the State contract.  When using this contract, Budget Rental
Car assumes liability.

· If LDW is not purchased the deductible charged to the department will be
doubled from $2,500 to $5,000.

· Other types of insurance should not be purchased and are not
reimbursable.
