to natural light
There is an interesting play of light found with the clerestory
windows above the stacks. Since these windows are found above and
behind the stacks, the books aren't ever in the path of direct sunlight.
Reading rooms contain a curtain wall over looking the water. These
windows provide ample light that varies in intensity throughout the day.
