Rebecca Briggs is second-year Master's student in the Environmental Studies Program. Prior to arriving in Eugene, she worked as an attorney in a Washington, DC law firm, specializing in antitrust and environmental insurance cases. Her graduate research focuses on agricultural and land use policy. She is also interested in the interrelationship of conservation and sustainable communities.

 

Currently attending the University of Oregon, Amanda Atkins is nearing the completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies while working as a property management consultant. She spends her time supporting various watershed restoration and conservation agencies and councils through volunteer efforts and campaign participation. When not consulting, attending class, or volunteering she spends her time traveling, acquiring new passions, and in general outdoor activities.

 

Kate Bullard, a third-year University of Oregon student, was born and raised in Oregon City, Oregon.  She is majoring in Environmental Studies, a passion she hopes to someday use in conjunction with her second major, Spanish. A long-time theater enthusiast, she is also interested in acting and theater as a means of education and outreach. While she dreams of working internationally, the Pacific Northwest will always be her home.

 

Terra Chaney is a third-year Environmental Science major. Born and raised in the mountains of Northern California, she enjoys spending time in the outdoors and learning about local habitats. She is interested in ecosystem ecology and hopes to share her love of nature with younger generations though environmental outreach programs.  

 

Andrew Hirtle was born and raised in New Albany, Ohio and is now a junior at the University of Oregon. Andrew is majoring in environmental science and enjoys backpacking, fly fishing, birding, and bluegrass. After graduation he plans to continue on to law school and pursue a degree in Environmental Law.

 

Steve Jang is a senior at the University of Oregon majoring in Environmental Studies.  Born in the Pacific Northwest (Olympia, WA), Steve soon moved to Chicago where his family currently resides.  Personal interests focus on outdoor activities such as backpacking, fly-fishing, and snowboarding, however Steve is an avid sports enthusiast (Go Ducks/Bears!)  His background experience includes overseas field studies working with New Zealand’s Department of Conservation, an environmental consulting internship with GaiaTech Incorporated’s Chicago branch, as well as four years of course study at the University of Oregon.  Although his ultimate career goals are still being shaped, his final destination will involve the outdoor pursuits industry.

 

Born and raised within the coast range of Oregon, Chelsea Prine is currently a junior at the University of Oregon. She is completing a degree in Environmental Studies, with interests including camping, hiking, dance and various forms of art. She plans on continuing outdoor work with hopes of becoming an Environmental Educator.
