WREN is a non-profit organization that encourages environmental stewardship through both formal and informal programs in the West Eugene Wetlands and in local Eugene, Springfield, and Bethel classrooms. WREN is a member of the West Eugene Wetlands Partnership, which is a nationally recognized collaboration developed in 1994 to achieve substantial wetlands protection and sound urban development in Oregon’s second largest metropolitan area.  The partnership has implemented many cooperative projects related to enhancement and restoration of key habitats, recreation facilities development, environmental education, and scientific research. The partnership includes eight member groups including non-profit organizations, and government representatives on the local, state, and federal level.

Within the partnership, WREN aims to develop an environmentally literate community that is competitive in our global economy by providing skills and knowledge to make well informed choices, and allows for the exercise of rights and responsibilities as members of our community.
