Project SELECT: Social Emotional Learning in Early Childhood for Infants and Toddlers

The Early Intervention Program (EIP) at the Center on Human Development has been funded to develop a curriculum for use by parents and home visitors. The curriculum content will be directly linked to the skills on the Social-Emotional Assessment Measure (SEAM) with the purpose of supporting the development of social and emotional competence in young children with disabilities and at risk for disabilities.

These intervention components will be developed:

Areas of research & technical assistance

  1. An intervention and materials based a sound theory of intervention that can be easily understood and used by home visitors and parents;
  2. Research including treatment fidelity with families, and home visitors
  3. Collection of data on effects of using the intervention with parents and their infant and/or toddler.
