Hypothesis
- The sound isolation strategies implemented in the construction of Spencer View Apartments satisfactorily reduce airborne sound transmission levels, but not impact sound transmission.
We chose to assess the "satisfactory" performance of the floor experientially -- through survey data. For these purposes, "satisfactory" performance is demonstrated when the majority of tenants do not observe hearing a sound, or very few hear it "Always."
We also ask questions about "annnoyance" in our survey, and we feel that this is a good counterpoint to "satisfaction." thus, we feel comfortable in establishing that there is an inverse correlation between "satisfaction" and the observation that a sound is "annoying."
