About This PrintWindin the Body is the earliest Takahashi print in this collection. It is a tour de force of non-representational forms which leave the impression of a body in motion, perhaps stirred by an inner wind. While the print is shown in the Catalogue Raisonné in a landscape orientation, the placement of the date inscription and signature suggest Takahashi wanted a portrait, rather than landscape, orientation for this print, as shown above. There may be several states for this print, as the Catalogue Raisonné shows 1955 as the "year of production" but this print is dated October 1957.
