About This Print
A rarely encountered print from the artist published by Kyoto Hangain in 1950, picturing the actor Ichikawa Ennosuke II 市川猿之助 (1888-1963) applying makeup in his dressing room. Done in the same style as Wada's famous series Japanese Vocations in Pictures the print, it is not part of this series, being published prior to Kyoto Hangain's re-issuing of series one and two of Japanese Vocations in Pictures, originally published by Nishinomiya Shoin before the War, and their newly issued series three of Japanese Vocations in Pictures,, which they began publishing in December 1954.The name of the actor 猿之助 (Ennosuke) is shown on the round table to his left.
