WOULD YOU LIKE TO VOLUNTEER?

Get valuable experience interacting with children, that can be used to fulfill some class requirements.  For a few hours a week, you can set aside the stress of a busy student schedule while encouraging a child’s desire to learn.  If you are considering a career that includes children, volunteering at Moss Street can give you helpful insightful as to what that might look like.  Spending regular time at Moss Street can help you to develop emotional and social skills that you can use when/if you become a parent.

Each term, we do have UO students that just want to be involved with children. Maybe that will be you. Because we hire mostly work study student employees, non-work study students have found volunteering to be a good alternative to get experience in a child care setting. If you are intersted in this opportunity, we do ask for a schedule of at least twice a week, so the children can become familiar with you. Tuesday evening trainings are not mandatory, but encouraged.
