Final Exam Policies
1. The date and time of the final exam are announced in the syllabus. The final exam schedule is also included in the UO Schedule of Courses.
2. Classroom assignments for the final exam are given later in the term. You will receive a copy of these assignments in your mailbox when they become available.
3. Announce the date, time and place of the final exam many times. Also, remind students of your name before the final exam. This is not a joke: every term there are many students who wander into the RL office looking for their final exam classroom who do not know their instructors name.
4. For security reasons, final exams will be made available to you the morning of the day on which the final is given. However, you may ask to examine a copy of the final as soon as a draft is available (usually, the last week of classes). You will certainly want to let students know the general nature of the exam.
5. You must give the final exam on the day and at the time indicated. The only exception is given below.
6. If a student has more than three (3) final exams scheduled for the same day, consult your supervisor about the possibility of making special arrangements. (Be sure that you are familiar with the policy on incompletes.)
7. You must file your grades in accordance with the instructions provided by the RL Office Staff.
8. Turn in a copy of your grades and the copies of your students' final exams to the course supervisor. Use an envelope with the class, term and year, your name, and the CRN written legibly (e.g. SPAN 101, Fall 2001, Paula Ellister, CRN 14332).
