Grading Criteria

Due Date: Wednesday, October 30, in class.

The assignment:

Write a total of two annotations. One of the two must be from one of the following source categories.

The other may be from any of the five source categories:

Your annotations should be in the same format you will use in the final project. The only exception is that no page number is required on these annotations. If you are unsure of the proper format, check the requirements on the final project page and the Example. If you are annotating an interview make sure you look at the example.

Grading Criteria - Warm Up #3

As with all assignments in the class, we will evaluate this assignment using three general criteria:

  • Are all the required parts of the assignment completed?
  • Is the assignment free of spelling and grammatical errors?
  • Does the assignment represent the highest quality work?

The most important of the three is the measure of quality. In measuring quality, we will evaluate the quality of the source; your discussion of the value of the source to your research and its relation to other annotations.

  • "A" is highest possible grade:Assignment meets the first two criteria and is superior in quality.

  • "B+"is highest possible grade: Superior quality and all parts are complete, but there are spelling or grammar errors.

  • "B" is highest possible grade:Average quality and meets the first two criteria.

  • "B-" is highest possible grade: Average quality and fails to meet one or both of the first two criteria.

  • "C" is highest possible grade: Below average quality and meets the first two criteria.

  • "C-" is highest possible grade:Below average quality and fails to meet one or both of the first two criteria.

  • "D" or "F" will be awarded if the assignment fails to meet minimum standards in one or more of the three criteria.
