Smart Lighting:

The new weight room south utilizes "smart lighting," which means that the amount of lighting used in the room is determined by the level of natural light from windows. The picture to the right depicts two sensors that measure light levels (located near the middle of the image to the left of the four pot-lights). When the level of natural light is high, as in the image, little artificial light is needed. On the other hand, when it is dark out, different levels of lighting turn on, each level allowing for increased brightness. The highest level utilizes the lights seen below, which are unofficially known as "he-men."
