Diablo’s at 959 Pearl St. opened on Fat Tuesday of 2000 and just
had its seventh-year anniversary on Feb. 20. The Downtown Lounge
is the first level of the building, providing a variety of meals
and cozy seating. The underground level below the lounge is the
nightclub. Diablo’s is known for its decor with flaming walls, lit
pool tables and red furniture. Work from local artists can be viewed
and purchased.
Aside from the decor and location, there is something for every
day of the week. Sunday is “Kick Ass Karaoke,” which starts at 10
p.m. Karaoke night opens the floor for anyone who wants to belt
out a note.
Monday is movie night, a night to watch a top movie on a 10-foot high definition
projector screen. The movie starts at 9. To get the rest of the
week started, Kisha Pruitt hosts open mic night on Tuesdays. The
nightclub welcomes anyone who wants to tell a joke, sing a song
or recite poetry. Interested folks must sign up or show up by 8
p.m. The night kicks off at 9.
Wednesday thru Saturday events vary and feature a wide variety
of resident and national music artists. The cover charge for Diablo’s
can vary depending on the event. On Thursdays women get into the
club free.
