Quality infant care is based on respectful and responsive relation-based care. Through sensitive observation, we read important cues from the infant. These cues are valuable in order to meet the needs of infants accurately and in a timely fashion.
Toddlers are unique explorers and scientists who use their whole bodies to experience and investigate the world. They learn best through their senses, so we provide ample opportunities for "hands on" learning activities. |

Our approach with your children will be observational based, with sensitive responses to each individual child. The teachers will provide an environment that is physically safe, emotionally nurturing, and cognitively challenging. The respect shown to each child will give him/her a feeling of trust in others and a strong sense of self. This experience in group care will be fostered by the teachers to encourage a life-long love of learning. We encourage parental involvement and welcome you to your child's classroom at all times.

Preschool is a busy time! Children are exploring the world around them, their own creativity, and the social world of friends. We see teachers as facilitators of their learning through play and classroom activities. Our goal is to build a positive self-image in every child by fostering his/her ability to:
- Build respectful relationships with peers and adults
- Develop thinking and problem solving skills
- Develop creativity and imagination
- Develop a functional knowledge of the physical world and beginning academics
- Develop a positive attitude toward school and appropriate school behaviors
- Learn respect for the earth and all living things

Because these are after-school classrooms, we've arranged them to be primarily recreational. Many of the activities we provide are planned to increase children's abilities to interact independently and positively with each other, to take responsibility for themselves, and to learn to play individual and team games.
On the parent counter - where you sign-out at, you will find our daily schedules and on the glass wipe-off board you will see what the children decided to do. We enourage them to plan for themselves and we try to provide what they need to implement their ideas.
We love to have parents involved in the Jay, Mallard, and Ellie rooms. Come by and have lunch, read a story, or just hang out. Let us know if you have ideas for a field trip or activity that you would like to be involved with. We welcome your input. |
