MILL
RACE RESTORATION PROJECT |

The
Mill Race team is comprised of four Environmental Studies undergraduate
students and led by one Environmental Studies graduate student.

Our
project surrounds the Springfield Mill Race Restoration Project. The team
efforts will be focused primarily on a public education outreach program.
Our team will work in conjunction with the City of Springfield and the
Springfield Utility Board (SUB) staff to complete a series of goals:
- Produce
a brochure for mass mailing to the citizens of Springfield as part of
the outreach program.
- Create
various educational posters about the history, flora and fauna and the
future of the Mill Race, as related to the restoration project.
- Present
a condensed version of tOhe Mill Race restoration project as a presentation
in the Springfield middle schools and high schools.
- Participate
in the organization of a “Friends of the Mill Race” program
to educate and involve the citizens of Springfield with the restoration
project, including a public meeting and a community clean up day.
