MILL RACE RESTORATION PROJECT

Restoring the Mill Race has been a community goal for numerous years. This is an exciting time for the City of Springfield because those goals are starting to become a reality. Starting in Summer 2004, construction will begin to restore higher flows to the Mill Race.

The long term plans for the Mill Race will improve fish and wildlife habitat and will restore the Mill Race as a vibrant place for the community. In the years to come, the Mill Race will be a fantastic place for canoeing and wildlife viewing. It will also have trails for jogging and bicycling, and access points for parking and picknicking.
