Through a series of data gathering and interpreting activities, we eventually found that our hypothesis was wrong.  The heat radiated by the kilns is being lost through an open-air vent in the North wall (figs. 27 & 28), not the roof of the kiln room.

We feel that our methods for gathering information were successful.  Good time management allowed us to gather and review information for its relevance and to go back to further investigate as it was necessary.
