Select the series to use
The record may be analyzed as charcoal accumulation rates or concentration. Charcoal accumulation rates are in units of pieces cm-2 year-1, and often referred to as 'CHAR'. CHAR is calculated as sedimentation rate * charcoal concentration, or [(Dbase-Dtop)/(Agebase-Agetop)]*(count/volume), where Dbase and Dtop are the depths of the base and top of each section and Agebase and Agetop are the ages of the base and top of each section. Use the pop-up menu to select which time series to use for all subsequent analyses. CHAR is the default. updated 21 June 2006 |
